Dynamic FM goes Carbon Negative in 2022

At Dynamic FM, we recognise the importance of the Climate Emergency and the importance of playing our part, both as individuals and as a collective, to do what we can to reduce the impacts of global warming and climate change. We have now been fully Carbon Neutral since 2020 and continue to work alongside leading climate consultants, Climate Partner to measure, reduce and neutralise our carbon emissions.

In 2022, we have offset over 67.3 tons of Carbon. This is 20% above our measured carbon emissions for 2022 making us a Net Carbon Negative organisation!

How does it work?

Whilst “Carbon negative” is not a recognised standard, we have decided to go above and beyond in terms of our offset requirements and offset an additional 20% beyond what would be required to make us “Carbon Neutral”

“Climate Neutral” means that all emissions generated by our products and our company have been reported and compensated through recognised carbon offset projects.

  1. Measure – Together with ClimatePartner, we have calculated all our CO2 emissions – from heating our office, to manufacturing, packaging and transporting our products.
  2. Avoid and Reduce – We reduce emissions where we can: for example, we have recently started to onboard hybrid EV vehicles into our fleet, our new office headquarters uses environmentally friendly MHVR systems, and we have shifted to using using environmentally friendly, rainforest-certified office stationary, along with working with suppliers to find sustainable options where possible,.
  3. Offset – We offset all unavoidable emissions through internationally recognised carbon offset projects from the ClimatePartner portfolio.
  4. Label – We are a climate neutral company with all our products being climate neutral as well. Our “Climate Neutral” label awarded by ClimatePartner and including a unique ID-Tracking number, helps our customers to understand how and where our carbon emissions have been offset, it has also been certified by TUV Austria.

Sustainable Development Projects supported by Dynamic FM:

Dynamic FM has supported several development projects around the world which support the UN Sustainable Development Goals and help impoverished communities, alongside offsetting carbon.

In 2022 we supported the following projects:

Biomass Project in Soacha, Columbia

This Gold Verified project provides jobs in the local community of Soacha and provides the local community with efficient, clean energy production from renewable biomass technologies which as used instead of coal for energy production. This project supports the following EU Sustainable Development Goals:

SDG 1 · No Poverty

The project secures jobs and income for 115 people in Soacha.

SDG 3 · Good Health and Well-Being

Less air pollution from burning coal, high health and safety standards for employees.

SDG 7 · Affordable and Clean Energy

Efficient energy production from renewable biomass; the project is a positive example of modern biomass technology.

SDG 12 · Responsible Consumption and Production

Use of renewable biomass and waste products instead of coal for energy production.

SDG 13 · Climate Action

The project saves 20,000 tonnes of carbon emissions per year.

SDG 16 · Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions

Long-term employment opportunities help reduce social conflicts.

Solar Power Project in Namibia

This project supports a ten-hectare solar energy farm in Outapi, Namibia and provides jobs for the local community along with producing over 9000 MWh of energy per year.

SDG 1 · No Poverty

10 percent of the shares are donated to Outapi Community Trust – an organization that helps provide better medication and expansion of schools.

SDG 4 · Quality Education

Renovation of local schools. Among other things new sanitary facilities were installed.

SDG 7 · Affordable and Clean Energy

Every year, it feeds 9,425 MWh of energy into Namibia’s grid, helping to make the country independent of energy imports and improve electricity supply.

SDG 8 · Decent Work and Economic Growth

The power plant has created new jobs. Local companies benefit from improved energy supply.

SDG 13 · Climate Action

The project saves an average of tonnes of 9,300 CO2 emissions per year.

We hope our decision to become climate neutral has a positive impact on the world around us. If you would like to look at the details of our supported projects please follow the link below:
