Dynamic FM Completes Low-Carbon M&E Upgrade at Stanley Park Infant School
Dynamic FM has successfully delivered a comprehensive heating and hot water replacement scheme at Stanley Park Infant School in Carshalton, Surrey. The £732,000 project represents a significant step forward in modernising the school’s infrastructure while supporting energy efficiency and decarbonisation goals.
Full Mechanical and Electrical Replacement with ASHP Integration
The works involved the complete strip-out of legacy gas-fired heating and domestic water systems, replaced with an all-new low-temperature hot water (LTHW) system served by air source heat pumps (ASHPs). Dynamic FM led both the design and delivery, implementing:
- High-efficiency ASHPs, buffer and expansion vessels, and new pumps
- New fan convectors and radiators, including LST units for safe use in education settings
- Full domestic hot and cold water system replacements
- Electrical upgrades to accommodate the new M&E systems
- Smart BMS controls with zonal management and future-ready remote access
All systems were tested, flushed, chemically treated, and commissioned to ensure optimum long-term performance. Specialist insulation was installed across plantroom and distribution areas to minimise energy loss.

Managing Complexity in a Live School Environment
With no on-site technical client, Dynamic FM acted as principal interface, maintaining open lines of communication with the school and the Contract Administrator throughout. Key project challenges included:
- Occupied Environment: Works were carefully phased around term dates, with night shifts and out-of-hours delivery during school breaks.
- Plantroom Reconfiguration: The heating plant was relocated and reconfigured within limited space, requiring structural adaptations and meticulous sequencing.
- Programme Management: The 134-day schedule required concurrent mechanical and electrical activity across multiple areas to meet the deadline.
- On-Site Constraints: Tight access and no storage space meant just-in-time deliveries and careful traffic coordination.
Delivering Added Value
Through collaborative value engineering, Dynamic FM delivered £80,000 in cost savings without compromising quality. A major component of this included an open-source BMS alternative to the originally specified Trend controls, and rationalised pipework design. Post-handover, Dynamic FM also installed a VPN-enabled remote access system, enabling our engineers to monitor, reset and optimise performance from our Greater Manchester HQ — often before the school even knew there was an issue.
“Dynamic FM delivered an exceptional standard of service throughout the Stanley Park project. From pre-construction planning through to final handover, their communication, professionalism, and attention to detail were outstanding. They worked collaboratively with all stakeholders to minimise disruption within the school and delivered a complex M&E upgrade on time and within budget.
The quality of workmanship and commitment to health and safety were exemplary, and the project has been very well received by the school and Trust. We would have no hesitation in recommending Dynamic FM for future projects of this nature.”
